Globo Turf Expands Production Capacity: Closer to Europe, Faster to the Balkans
A new facility. Greater production capacity. Stronger access to European markets.
Globo Turf has entered a new stage of its growth with the expansion of its production operations in Velimeşe Organized Industrial Zone, Tekirdağ, Türkiye.
The move represents more than a change of address.
With increased production capacity, improved operational infrastructure and a strategic location close to Türkiye’s European transport corridors, our new facility strengthens our ability to serve football, sports and artificial turf projects across Europe — with a particular logistical advantage for the Balkans and Southeastern Europe.
For Globo Turf, this expansion supports a broader objective:
Engineering the Future of Play.
A New Production Base for a Growing International Market
As Globo Turf continues to expand its activities in sports surfaces and turnkey sports infrastructure, production capability becomes increasingly important.
Our projects today extend beyond the supply of artificial turf.
We work across football fields, training grounds, football academies, padel facilities and integrated sports infrastructure projects. These projects require reliable manufacturing, coordinated logistics and the ability to respond to different project scales.
Our new location in Velimeşe OSB provides a stronger operational base for this growth.
The expanded facility allows us to increase production capacity while improving production planning, stock management, loading operations and international shipment coordination.
The objective is simple:
More capacity. Better planning. Faster response.
Increased Production Capacity
One of the most important results of the expansion is the increase in production capability.
Our new operational structure provides capacity of up to 100,000 m² per month, allowing Globo Turf to manage larger orders and multiple international projects more effectively.
This additional capacity is particularly valuable for projects where delivery schedules are critical.
Football field developments, academy projects and sports complexes often involve several construction disciplines working according to the same project programme. Delays in sports surfaces can therefore affect installation teams, equipment suppliers and final commissioning.
Greater production flexibility allows us to plan manufacturing according to project schedules rather than treating every order as an isolated shipment.
For our international partners, this means improved scalability as projects grow.
Strategically Located in European Türkiye
Production capacity alone does not determine delivery performance.
Location matters.
Velimeşe is located in Tekirdağ, within Türkiye’s main industrial and export corridor toward Europe.
Our facility has convenient access to the E80 / Trans-European road network, providing a direct connection toward the Kapıkule border crossing and onward into Bulgaria and the European Union.
The location places our production base approximately 150 km from the Kapıkule Customs Gate.
This gives Globo Turf a particularly strong position for road transportation toward Southeastern and Central Europe.
Instead of looking at Türkiye simply as a manufacturing location, we see our position in Thrace as a logistical bridge between Türkiye, the Balkans and the wider European market.
Closer to the Balkans
The Balkans are becoming an increasingly important market for Globo Turf.
Countries including:
Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Serbia, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia and Slovenia
continue to develop football infrastructure, municipal sports facilities, training centres, padel clubs and recreational projects.
For these markets, proximity to production can create a significant commercial advantage.
Road transportation from our Tekirdağ facility provides a practical alternative to long-distance overseas sourcing, particularly when projects require flexible delivery schedules or additional material during installation.
This proximity can support:
Shorter transportation routes
Faster shipment planning
More flexible truck deliveries
Easier coordination of project quantities
Reduced dependency on long maritime supply chains
Faster response to additional project requirements
For sports construction projects, these advantages can be just as important as the product itself.
From Factory to Football Field
A football field project does not end when artificial turf leaves the production line.
Materials must reach the construction site at the right stage of the project.
Ground preparation, drainage, shock pad installation, turf installation, infill, lighting and sports equipment all depend on coordinated scheduling.
Our proximity to Balkan markets helps us approach logistics as part of the overall project rather than as a separate activity.
This becomes even more important for turnkey sports infrastructure projects, where Globo Turf may coordinate multiple systems within the same development.
For a football academy, for example, the project may include several pitches, fencing, lighting, sports equipment and additional facilities.
Manufacturing and logistics must therefore work together with engineering and construction planning.
Supporting Football, Padel and Sports Infrastructure Projects
The expansion also reflects the evolution of Globo Turf itself.
Artificial turf remains an important part of our business, but our focus increasingly extends toward complete sports infrastructure.
Our solutions include projects involving:
Football Infrastructure Artificial turf football fields, natural and hybrid systems, training pitches and professional sports surfaces.
Football Academies Training grounds, multiple-pitch academy developments and integrated player development facilities.
Padel Infrastructure
Padel turf and complete court solutions, supported by our specialised Padel Court Factory operations.
Multi-Sport Facilities
Community sports facilities, schools, municipalities and private sports developments.
Turnkey Sports Projects Integrated solutions combining engineering, sports surfaces, lighting, fencing, equipment and project coordination.
A stronger production base gives us greater control over one of the most important components within this ecosystem: the sports surface.
Factory-Direct Supply
Another advantage of our expanded operation is the ability to maintain a direct relationship between manufacturing and the project.
Factory-direct supply provides greater visibility over:
production planning, technical specifications, quality control, packaging and shipment scheduling.
This is particularly important for international distributors and contractors who require predictable supply.
For larger projects, direct coordination also makes it easier to plan phased shipments according to construction progress.
Rather than simply selling square metres of turf, our objective is to understand where the product will be installed, how the facility will operate and when the material needs to arrive.
That approach is central to Globo Turf's development as a sports infrastructure company.
Türkiye as a Production Hub for European Sports Projects
Türkiye already occupies an important position between European, Balkan, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and Black Sea markets.
For sports infrastructure, this geographic position creates an interesting combination of manufacturing capability and market accessibility.
Our location in European Türkiye strengthens that advantage further.
From Velimeşe, road connections provide access toward Bulgaria and the Balkan corridor, while nearby ports and Istanbul's international transport infrastructure support shipments toward broader export markets.
This allows Globo Turf to serve different project models — from individual truck shipments to larger international infrastructure developments.
Same Quality. Greater Capacity.
Growth only creates value when quality grows with it.
Increasing production capacity does not change the fundamental principles behind Globo Turf.
Our focus remains on:
Quality. Performance. Reliability. Engineering. Partnership.
The purpose of expanding our facility is not simply to manufacture more.
It is to serve our customers and project partners more effectively.
More production flexibility.
Better logistics coordination.
Greater capacity for international projects.
And a stronger foundation for the next stage of Globo Turf's development.
Engineering the Future of Play
Our move to Velimeşe OSB represents another step in Globo Turf's transformation from a sports surface supplier into an international sports infrastructure partner.
With increased production capacity and a strategic position close to Europe, we are strengthening our ability to support projects throughout the Balkans and beyond.
From artificial turf production to football fields, training centres, academies, padel facilities and turnkey sports complexes, we continue to build the infrastructure behind the game.
New facility. Greater capacity. Closer to Europe.
ENGINEERING THE FUTURE OF PLAY.
